Perception

With the dairy farm operating within the grounds of the school, beside the velodrome and alongside the river and Cambridge town boundary we are very aware of the importance of public perception of our farming practices.

Owl Farm featured on Rural Delivery in May 2021, showcasing our journey as a demonstration farm since inception.

It is our duty to help educate and provide positive dairy farm experiences for those who are not exposed to the realities of farming in NZ. We endeavour to host as many groups as we can on farm throughout the year; we particularly enjoy having local primary schools and opening the gate on our annual Public Open Day to people from all over the North Island.

In 2021 85% of guests agreed or strongly agreed that “Owl Farm contributes positively to our local community”.

90% of guests agreed or strongly agreed that “Owl Farm takes care of their animals and the environment”.

90% of guests agreed or strongly agreed that “Owl Farm provides positive educational opportunities that promote dairy farming as a career option to students”.
